Feb. 16, 2011 - The North Central College wrestling team closed out the home portion of its 2010-2011 schedule on Wednesday, posting a 36-15 victory over College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin rival Wheaton College at Gregory Arena.
Due to injuries and forfeits, only four matches were contested on the evening. The first match was at 157 pounds, and North Central's Joby Bodi won a 10-3 decision over Matt Cordell. The Cardinals' Jason Bonham followed with a 9-3 decision over Cameron Fox at 165.
Wheaton's Justin Marble collected a hard-fought victory at 184, scoring a late takedown in the third period and outlasting Billy Malone, 8-6. The final match of the night ended in the meet's only pin, as the Cardinals' Adam Kendall stuck Jason Geick with just 1.4 seconds left in the third period.
North Central, which improved to 6-1 in dual meets this season, is idle until it travels to Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wis., for the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships.
